The Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District (NWAEDD) was recently awarded a Rural Business Development Grant from USDA-Rural Development. Through this grant, NWAEDD will partner with Retail Strategies, LLC to offer the Retail Academy course to six communities across Northwest Arkansas. Developed by Retail Strategies, Retail Academy educates communities on best practices to attract new retail and restaurants while providing resources to support and grow existing local businesses. The event will kick-off virtually on October 6th, 2020, and the course work will take place over the next year. The six communities that will be participating include: Elkins, Eureka Springs, Harrison, Marshall, Mountain Home, and Pea Ridge.

All City of Elkins offices will be closed Friday, March 20, 2020 Effective March 23, 2020 Elkins City Hall, Elkins Water Department, Elkins District Court and Elkins Police Department will be closed to the public, this includes in-person payments for bills, fines and invoices. We will continue to be staffed, and they will process payments via the phone, mail or drop boxes. We will still issue permits and conduct normal business via phone and email. Customers may use the drop-boxes outside of the water department and district court (check or money order only) We will continue to process payments over the phone via credit/debit cards.
