CITY OF ELKINS, WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS 

A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A POLICY TO IMPROVE AND SAFEGUARD MONETARY TRANSACTIONS IN THE CITY OF ELKINS, ARKANSAS

WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City Council of the City of Elkins that it is necessary to adopt a policy to safeguard financial transactions at the City; and 

WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Elkins, Arkansas believes that a policy to eliminate cash transactions in the City will improve and safeguard monetary transactions in the City 

WHEREAS, the City Council desires to adopt a policy stating that cash is an unacceptable form of payment in the City of Elkins administration, court and water departments

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elkins as follows

Section 1. That a policy stating cash is an unacceptable form of payment thereby eliminating cash transactions in the City of Elkins is attached hereto as Exhibit “Abe the same is hereby adopted

Section 2. This policy shall be maintained at the City Hall and shall be in full force and effect until such time as it is amended by the Elkins City Council

Note: Passed with motion that the policy be effective March 1 2022
