CITY OF ELKINS, WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS
A RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE 2022 BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE A PORTION OF FUNDS COLLECTED FOR TIIE ELKINS UTILITY IMPACT FEES FOR TIIE EXPANSION OF CAPACITY OF THE ELKINS UTILITY SYSTEM WATER INFRASTRUCTURE
WHEREAS, the City of Elkins collects certain impact fees for the extension and expansion of utility systems within the City of Elkins; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to expand a current two-inch (2) water line at Van Brunt Road to eight-inches (8″) for approximately one thousand four hundred feet (1400) at a cost of approximately $32.984.00, funds which are available in the restricted utility impact fee fund; and
WHEREAS, the resulting increase in capacity will nieet the purpose of the impact fee funds and will the City Council, after thorough consideration, believes that approval of the amendment to the 2022 budget to appropriate funds to proceed with the expansion is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Elkins.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elkins as follows:
The 2022 budget is hereby amended to reflect the additional appropriation of $32,984.00 to expand the capacity of the water line at Van Brunt Road by installing an eight-inch (8″) waterline to replace the existing two-inch (2″) water line. The Mayor and Finance Director will make adjustments to the Elkins budget Jocuments to reflect this expenditure.
