ORDINANCE 11-15-2018 – Finance Director

AN ORDINANCE TO CREATE THE POSITION OF FINANCE DIRECTOR OF THE CITY OF ELKINS, ARKANSAS.

WHEREAS, the operation of the City of Elkins has grown and changed over the years and as the city has grown, the former position of Office Manager is no longer adequate to meet the financial and operational needs of the City of Elkins; and

WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Elkins, Arkansas desires to adopt the job description for the position of Finance Director of the City of Elkins in order to better serve the citizens and provide for more reliable and efficient operations.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Elkins as follows:

Section 1. That the job description for the position of Finance Director of the City of Elkins attached hereto as Exhibit “A” be the same is hereby adopted. It is understood that the specifics of this position of Finance Director and the job description may be adjusted from time to time by the Mayor.

Section 2. The job description and position of Office Manager is thereby repealed as those duties will fall under the position of Finance Director.

Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of the conflict and if any part of this ordinance shall be deemed invalid, this ordinance shall be applied as if that portion never existed and such ruling shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance.
