RESOLUTION NO. 2019-16
A RESOLUTION AFFIRMING THE CITY OF ELKINS FAIR HOUSING AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY POLICY
WHEREAS the United States Congress has declared that all U.S. citizens have the same right to inherit, purchase, lease, sell, hold, and convey real property; and
WHEREAS Congress has declared that fair and open housing is the law of the land; and
WHEREAS Congress has also declared that all citizens have an equal opportunity for employment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF ELKINS, that the City shall prohibit discrimination in public and private housing, in property ownership, and in employment opportunities. Be it further resolved that the City of Elkins supports and shall promote open housing and equal opportunity employment.
