CITY OF ELKINS, WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS
A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AN AGREEMENT FOR A SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER PROGRAM BY AND BETWEEN THE ELKINS SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF ELKINS POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, to maintain a safe and secure environment on school campuses and establish a cooperative effort to prevent juvenile delinquency and assist in student development, it is vital to Elkins School District to establish a School Resource Officer Program; and
WHEREAS, after careful review and consideration the Mayor and the City Council of Elkins has determined that it is in the best interest of the City of Elkins and the Elkins School District to approve an Agreement by and between the Elkins School District and the City of Elkins Police Department.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF ELKINS, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: The Mayor of the City of Elkins, Arkansas, on behalf of the City of Elkins, Arkansas, has hereby approved the attached Agreement to establish a school resource officer program and the Mayor is authorized to take all such other action as is necessary in connection therewith in order to complete the Agreement. Further, all previous actions of the Mayor or his designee in connection therewith are hereby approved and ratified. A copy of the fully executed agreement shall be maintained in the offices of the City Clerk.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council for the City of Elkins, Arkansas, this 15th day of August, 2019.
