A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A POLICY RELATING TO THE OUTSIDE EMPLOYMENT OF UNIFORMED POLICE EMPLOYEES.
WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Elkins has learned that a policy does not exist relating to the outside employment of uniformed police employees; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is necessary to adopt the Policy for City of Elkins Outside Employment of Uniformed Police Employees; and
WHEREAS, numerous Elkins Police Department uniformed employees plan to work at Razorback football games and other events for which a policy will be required; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it is in the best interest of the City of Elkins to adopt the policy attached as Exhibit “A”.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF ELKINS, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: The Policy for City of Elkins Outside Employment of Uniformed Police
Employees, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit “A”, is hereby approved and adopted for use by the City of Elkins.
Section 2: That the City Clerk of the City of Elkins is hereby authorized and directed to place one copy of the Policy for City of Elkins Outside Employment of Uniformed Police Employees on file in the City’s records.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council for the City of Elkins, Arkansas, this 18th day of April 2019.
