A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 2016-17 OF THE CITY OF ELKINS, ARKANSAS; AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2017, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2017.
WHEREAS, the City Council has been confronted with unexpected and unanticipated billing in excess of the amount budgeted in Resolution 2016-17 and income different than anticipated for 2017; and,
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that an Amendment to the budget adopted by Resolution 2016-17 is required to make appropriations of the revenue to cover the additional expenses for the year 2017.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ELKINS, ARKANSAS:
Section 1: That Resolution 2016-17 which adopted the Budget for the City of Elkins, for the year 2017 which reflected estimates of revenues and expenditures, does not adequately meet the needs of the City of Elkins for 2017; Exhibit “B” reflects all budgeting changes necessary to adequately meet the City’s expenditures and appropriations for 2017.
Section 2: The respective amounts in Exhibit “B”, amended budget, reflect changes made in each line in Exhibit “A”.
Section 3: It is necessary for the continued operation of municipal government that the budget approved by Resolution 2016-17 be amended to reflect the actual funds received and allocated for 2017. That Exhibit “B” Budget for 2017 is hereby adopted by the City Council of Elkins, Arkansas, as an Amendment to the Exhibit “A” Budget adopted by Resolution 2016-17, to cover the period January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017.
