AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE ZONING DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION AND BOUNDARIES REGARDING PROPERTY IDENTIFIED IN REZONING PETITION OF GERALD BOWMAN APPROVED MAY 21 , 2007 BY ELKINS PLANNING COMMISSION AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission on May 21, 2007, passed the Rezoning Petition of Gerald Bowman and recommended to the City Council passage of an ordinance to rezone the described property from R-1 to C-1 ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELKINS, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I: That the zone classification of the following described property be changedfrom R-1 to C-1.
SEE ATTACHED EXHIBIT “A”
SECTION 2: That the official Zoning District’s map of the City of Elkins, Arkansas is hereby amended to reflect the zoning change in Section 1 above.
SECTION 3: That development of this portion of the City is critical to sustaining the growth and vitality of the City. Therefore, in order to preserve the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Elkins an emergency is hereby declared and this ordinance shall be in immediate effect upon its passage and approval.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 7th day of June 2007.
