The City of Elkins is now accepting applications for the position of Sports Complex Coordinator. Requirements for the position are Knowledge of athletic programming and planning. Knowledge of computer operations. Ability to organize and lead a group of volunteers in a manner to achieve good performance and maintain high morale. Must be able to work a flexible schedule this includes nights and weekends. Good physical condition and sufficient strength to do lifting and carrying as required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Possession of valid driver’s license. Ability to make public presentations and organize events. Organizational skills. Ability to maintain facilities and fields to keep them in playable condition. Ability to resolve conflict in a professional manner. Responsible for total implementation of recreation programming. Compiles reports to evaluate the level of success of programs and reports to the head of the department and board. Tracks revenues and expenses to assure budget compliance and prepares a budget proposal each fall to reflect actual expenses. Responsible for maintaining facility conditions, which may include but not limited to operation of equipment such as tractors, mowers and groomers. Connects with city staff, board, and volunteer staff to make sure lines of communication stay current and is accurate. To be the active representative from the City of Elkins on the Washington County Civic League (WCCL) board. Participate, as necessary, in any WCCL meetings, activities, and events. Assist in the administrations and promotion of the WCCL in a manner that best benefits the league and the City of Elkins. Any other assigned duties required by the head of the department and/or board. Minimum of graduation from high school or equivalent, bachelor’s degree in recreation or physical education preferred but not required. The Sports Complex Coordinator at the City of Elkins is someone that is motivated, self-driven, and organized. The job requires someone that is ready to learn and to look for new ways to help shape and grow our current program for our kids and families in the community.
