The Water & Sewer Employee position is an employee position whose duties are supervised by the Water & Sewer Superintendent. This position performs a variety of semi–skilled labor and maintenance functions in the Water & Sewer Department to repair and maintain the water and sewer lines, water meters, water towers, pump stations and other facilities to insure proper and adequate water supply and distribution for the City of Elkins.
- Minimum of graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment including backhoes, front–end loaders, bulldozers, dump trucks, track hoe, skid steer, tractor, lawn equipment, etc.
- Ability to perform manual labor including digging and lifting over 50 lbs.
- Training in plumbing or water and sewer systems or related field.
Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints. Knowledge of basic mathematics and construction laws Works with other City Departments in the day-to–day operations of the City. Valid and good standing Arkansas Driver’s License. Valid and good standing Arkansas Class A CDL Driver‘s License or the ability to obtain within six months. Salary based on experience.
