Position – Administrative Assistant (Full Time Position)

Supervisor – Finance Director

Salary – Based on Experience

Position Summary:

The Administrative Assistant works under general supervision of the Finance Director and provides administrative support for the Finance Director, Mayor, Planning Leader and Police Department.  Duties include general clerical, receptionist duties for city hall which include filing, data entry and other general office duties.  Project a professional image through in-person and phone interaction.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One – Two Years Clerical Experience
  • Experience in the Financial Field
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and telephone protocol. Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to type 50 wpm.

Requirements for the Position:

  • Knowledge of the rules of public meeting conduct
  • Skills in maintaining complex record keeping and document retention systems
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate and exercise a high degree of diplomacy
  • Ability to attend meetings scheduled at night or at times other than regular business hours
  • Ability to work under constant time restraints and public scrutiny
  • Ability to handle daily contact with citizens, vendors, media and contractors
  • Work closely with other department heads and agencies
