A RESOLUTION TO CLASSIFY THE OFFICES OF CITY CLERK AND TREASURER OF ELKINS, ARKANSAS AS THE CITY CLERK-TREASURER

WHEREAS, the City of Elkins was advanced to City of the First Class as of November 16, 2017;

WHEREAS, when advancing in classification to a first class city, the Recorder becomes the City Clerk automatically;

WHEREAS, first class cities, by resloution or ordinance can combine the City Clerk and Treasurere positions;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ELKINS, ARKANSAS, that:

Section 1: Pursuant to A.C.A. 14-43-405, the positions of City Clerk and Treasurer in the City of Elkins are hereby amended to the position of City-Clerk Treasurer:

Section 2:   The position will be an elected position lasting four years with the next election being in November of 2018 pursuant to A.C.A. 14-43-316.
