A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 2010-32 OF THE CITY OF ELKINS, ARKANSAS; AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2011, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2011.
WHEREAS, the City Council has been confronted with unexpected and unanticipated billing in excess of the amount budgeted in Resolution 2010-32 and income different than anticipated for 2011; and,
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that an amendment to the budget adopted by Resolution 2010-32 is required to make appropriations for the revenue to cover the additional expenses for the year 2011.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ELKINS, ARKANSAS;
Section 1: That Resolution 2010-32 which adopted the Budget for the City of Elkins, for the year 2011 which reflected estimates of revenue and expenditures, does not adequately meet the needs of the City of Elkins at the present time, the highlighted (yellow) portions of the attached budget reflects the Amendments to the 2011 Budget adopted by Resolution 2010-32; these changes are necessary to enable to the City of Elkins to adequately meet its expenditure and appropriation needs to conduct business for 2011.
Section 2: Whereas, it is necessary for the efficient operation of municipal government that the budget approved in Resolution 2010-32 be amended to allow for the effective running of the City of Elkins. That the highlighted portions of the attached Budget for 2011 are hereby adopted by the City Council of Elkins, Arkansas, as an amendment to the budget adopted by Resolution 2010-32, to cover the period January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011.
