A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTIONS 2008-31 , 2008-36, AND 2009-11 FOR THE CITY OF ELKINS, ARKANSAS; AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2009, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31 , 2009.
WHEREAS, the City Council has been confronted with unexpected and unanticipated billing in excess of the amount budgeted in Resolutions 2008-31 , 2008-36, and 2009-11 and income different than anticipated for 2009; and,
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that an Amendment to the budget accepted by Resolution 2008-31 and previously amended by Resolutions 2008-36 and 2009-11 is required to make appropriations of the revenue to cover the additional expenses for the year 2009.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ELKINS, ARKANSAS:
Section I: That Resolution 2008-31 and Resolutions 2008-36 and 2009-11 which adopted and then amended the Budget for the City of Elkins, for the year 2009 which reflected estimates of revenues and expenditures, such budget as amended does not adequately meet the needs of the City of Elkins at the present time Exhibit. "A" reflects the budget contained in Resolution 2008-31 as subsequently amended by Resolutions 2008-36 and 2009-11. Exhibit B" reflects all changes necessary to enable to the City of Elkins to adequately meet their expenditures and appropriation needs to conduct business for 2009.
Section 2: The respective amounts in Exhibit "B", the amended budget, reflect changes made in each line in Exhibit "A".
Section 3: Whereas, it is necessary for the efficient operation of municipal government that the budget approved in Resolution 2008-31 and later amended by Resolution 2008-36 and 2009-11 be amended to allow forthe effective running of the City of Elkins. That Exhibit "B" Budget for 2009 is hereby adopted by the City Council of Elkins, Arkansas, as an Amendment to the Exhibit "A" Budget adopted by Resolution 2008-31 and previously amended by Resolutions 2008-36 and 2009-11 , to cover the period January 1, 2009 through December 31 , 2009.
