The Elkins Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1964. Currently they have 24 members, 2 stations and 8 pieces of apparatus. Our ISO rating in the city is a 4, outside city area is a 5. Several members serve on the Washington County TRT team.
The Elkins Fire Department is responsible for providing an efficient and effective delivery of fire, medical, rescue, and life safety emergency services. They also strive to improve the quality of life for City residents and rural area by providing public education and ongoing training for firefighters.
